Description
The Amazonia Black Cotton Scarf by Disorder is a limited edition print of the original sketch Amazonia by Disorder. The Amazon Rainforest image took about 3 months to draw over the last lockdown. It’s inspiration comes from the indigenous peoples of the amazon. In particular I wanted to depict their symbiotic relationship with their environment.
The Amazonia Black Cotton Scarf is a limited edition piece, which we print to order. We do this to minimise clothing waste and to ensure you get a slow fashion scarf. This might mean it takes us a little longer to get the scarf to you, but makes it all the more special when you receive it. The Amazonia Scarfs dimensions are 140cm by 50cm and it is made from ethically sourced cotton, printed with eco-certified inks.
The Amazon Rainforest is quite literally the lungs of the earth and is the subject of a new range of ethical scarfs from Disorder. The project started during lockdown, over the long dark winter months, we started to work on some ideas. With the backdrop of a global pandemic and environmental degradation constantly in the news. We felt it apt to turn this negative time into making a positive image, that people could draw strength from. A percentage of the profits from the sale of this scarf will be donated to Fauna and Flora International and other conservation charities which Disorder already supports.
Disorder is a slow fashion brand. This means we don’t compromise our design principles and environmental ideas, when we make our clothing. We are ideologically opposed to fast fashion and its disposable attitude towards fashion. It is important to value the clothing we design and make. We design and make our clothing to last. Disorder doesn’t design clothing to be thrown away. We design and make our clothing to be worn and loved. Over and over again.
All of the garments in Disorder’s apparel range are printed by our expert team in Birmingham, England. We use local suppliers as often as we can, because we believe in reinvesting in our community. We only use water soluble inks, that are certified non toxic and therefore don’t damage the environment. We are always trying to improve the quality and reduce the environmental impact of our designs.
