Description
The Amazonia Rainforest Black T-shirt is a limited edition print, from an original drawing by Disorder, hand crafted in the UK. The Amazonia Rainforest image took about 3 months to draw over the last lockdown. It’s inspiration comes from the indigenous peoples of the amazon. In particular I wanted to depict their symbiotic relationship with their environment.
The Amazon Rainforest is quite literally the lungs of the earth and is the subject of a new range of ethical apparel from Disorder, with a percentage of the profits going to rainforest charities. The project started during lockdown, over the long dark winter months, we started to work on some ideas. With the backdrop of a global pandemic and environmental degradation constantly in the news. We felt it apt to turn this negative time into making a positive image, that people could draw strength from. Disorder have a long history donating a percentage of our profits to fair trade, humanitarian and environmental projects in Burma. We intend to give a percentage of the profits from the sale of this t-shirt to Fauna and Flora International and other conservation charities which Disorder already supports.
Disorder is a slow fashion brand. In fact, we are ideologically opposed to fast fashion and all the damage it causes environmentally and socially. Therefore, it follows that we make a t-shirt, about caring for the environment, from organic cotton. This t-shirt is also carbon neutral. We print the Amazonia Rainforest Black T-Shirt in the UK to order, this helps to minimise clothing waste. We also use one of Britain’s most sustainable printers to print our garments.
