The Chindit Badge on a Teal Sweatshirt by Disorder is a limited edition garment hand made by Disorder. This sweatshirt is a slow fashion product, meaning it is  a limited edition print, made to order. This helps reduce unnecessary clothing waste and ensures you receive a unique slow fashion garment.  This means it takes us a little longer to get the garment to you, but makes it all the more special when you receive it.

The inspiration for the  illustration on this Sweatshirt is a trip to the serene Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar. It started as a sketch of the twin Chindith Temple Guardians that stand resolutely outside every Buddhist pagoda. They protect the temple and visitors from evil spirits. Also, the name ‘Chindits’ references the Allied soldiers that fought the Japanese in Burma during WW2, borrowing their name and emblem from these serene but scary Buddhist Temple Guardians. Every time I go to Burma/Myanmar I am always fascinated by the Chindith. Hopefully when you wear this garment you may gain some protection from wearing it or at least look great trying.

All of the garments in Disorder’s apparel range are printed by our award winning team in Birmingham, England. Disorder use local suppliers as often as we can, because we believe in reinvesting in our community. We only use water soluble inks, that are certified non toxic and therefore don’t damage the environment. We are always trying to improve the quality and reduce the environmental impact of our designs.
