Disorder was established in Birmingham in 1998, with sustainability at our core. Therefore, to ensure you receive a high-quality, unique ‘slow fashion’ garment, Disorder has developed its own vertically integrated, sustainable fashion ecosystem. Consequently, this allows us to have our garments fully traceable, thus giving our customers confidence in our sustainable credentials. Furthermore, we make our garments in the most ethical way possible.

Moreover, Disorder upholds ethical standards along the entire supply chain. Specifically, we handmake as many of our garments in-house as possible, at our own Birmingham micro-factory.

In instances where we must use an external supplier, we insist they are certified sustainable and organic. Additionally, they must have the necessary accreditations from independent bodies and standards. Each of these certifications demonstrates that they are actively working towards building healthy environmental practices and greater respect for the planet, at every step of the way.

Slow fashion

is the opposite to fast fashion and part of the “slow movement“. It advocates for manufacturing in respect to people, environment and animals. As such it is contrary to industrial fashion practices. Slow fashion involves local artisans and the use of eco-friendly materials. Its ultimate goal is the preserving of crafts and the environment and, ultimately, provide value to both consumers and producers.^[1]
